Earlier today my Dad and I worked on framing and painting the chroma key (green screen) boards which I’ll be using for the YouTube series. Take a look!

The challenge in all this wasn’t necessarily finding the right paint (which ended up being a Disney-branded color “Gamma Sector Green”, if you could believe it)… rather, it was trying to find a single sheet of foam-core panels which is large enough to cover my bedroom wall. No one had anything that was of a reasonable size, and using press board wood or sheetrock would’ve made it too heavy. On a whim we decided to check out Office Depot as our last try, and–lo and behold–they had it! We ended up getting two 40″x60″ (~100×150 cm) boards and just enough wood to build a frame to keep the boards flat and stable… and that’s the end result!

I really can’t wait to see where this goes and how well the boards work. It should work great, just cuz like… this digital picture of the green boards just shows the pure INTENSITY of the paint in the sunlight… it was so strong it was reflecting green inside of my house! So given how flat and consistent the green is, I shouldn’t have any issues with using it in my videos. Yay!
