The Actual News:
Hey! I’m STILL not dead! In fact, we’re nearing the one-month-left point before PA!’s 21st Birthday on April 10th, 2020. What’s gonna happen? Well, swing by and find out!
That said, I’m working on a new Pokémon symbol typeface that I’m going to be using for the site (as well as for download). The goal is to include as many common symbols used by the video game, TCG, etc as reasonably necessary. For example, I just finished tracing the VG type symbols, and I’m currently working on tracing the TCG symbols as well…
The idea is that, when you type a letter in one case, you’ll get the TCG version, but typing the same letter in the other case will give you the VG type. So like, “R” will produce 
, while “r” gives you 
. Er, well, maybe not colored red per se and not with a circle around it, and definitely sized appropriately… but you get the idea. Plus the idea is to use the font all over the place… partially so that I don’t have to use the type emoticons as often as I have to, but also so I can use it on fake cards as well… as well as let you guys download it for your own fake card purposes. Pretty nifty idea, huh?
Unfortunately I’ve hit a minor roadblock. One of the kinds of symbols I want to add to the typeface will be also be the VG status effect icons… so stuff like Burned, Poisoned, Paralyzed, etc. You can see what I’ve got below, except that I’m short by just ONE: FROZEN.
Yeah yeah insert your own Let It Go jokes here… but I’m still short that one status effect, thus making the symbol typeface perpetually incomplete.
Sooo….. do you think you can help me out with something? I’m looking for a screenshot from Sword/Shield of a Pokémon that’s got the Frozen effect; do you have one to spare? I tried looking for this on Google Image Search but came up empty-handed…. though I did find that large German “Paralysis” symbol, so that was helpful. I also checked the SwSh page at the Spriters Resource for help, but while they had higher quality versions of the type symbols, they didn’t have any other symbol rips. Drat.
With all the other resources run dry, I’m hoping my small but extremely attractive and pleasent smelling audience might have a full-sized screenshot on their Switch of one of their Pokémon being frozen in a battle and can send it my way. (Did I also mention how adorable you look when you laugh? 
) Now if you need a place to upload your screenshot, try imgur. Or use the Switch’s sharing feature and post it on Twitter; just make sure you don’t dont-at-me. Or maybe just find an excuse to post it to 4chan/vp and send me a link.
Either way, if you’ve got a picture of the Frozen symbol, or know where to find one, that’d be AWESOME and I’d love a copy. Thanks!
