A Quick Diversion:

The Actual News:

Happy New York! …sorry, New YEAR. This is why I hate posting on my cellphone! Lousy auto insurance. …CORRECTION. Auto CORRECTION.

ANYWAYS….

Yep! As always I disappear for a whole month because of real world concerns, but I’m still here! But because I also need to go to bed, I’m gonna keep this post super short.

First off, I’ve literally spent what little time I’ve had this past month working on my Japanese Neo Redux blanks! Now if you’ve visited the Fake Card Mania channel of the PA! Discord, you might have seen me discovering all the little tidbits about the original Japanese Neo blank design, like how the Neo design element has these little “curves” or “fins” which I didn’t quite notice before, mostly because I didn’t quite know what I was looking at on the Wizards blanks… like, I thought the curve was maybe a mistake on my part during the blanking process, but seeing them on the Japanese cards made it clear that it was intentional. Take a look; the animation is a bit exagerated for effect, but you can still clearly see it (Japanese on the top, Wizards on the bottom):

It’s a shame that this design was added by someone at Media Factory back in the day, but the print was just so low-resolution that no one would’ve ever noticed. But hey, it may have taken some 20-ish years, but I finally recognized your design flair, Anonymous Designer-san!

Anyways, I managed to get the Grass blanks done, but the rest still need to be made up. However, the actual layout was the hard part, and since I already have the backgrounds designed, turning them into Japanese Neo Redux blanks should be pretty easy to do (read: it’ll be finished by next month). As a sign of good faith, however, I’ve decided to release the full-quality, full size Grass-type Japanese Neo Redux blanks for you to use. Huzzah! OK fine, I don’t have anything else to go with it (no symbols or anything), but it’s a start…!

As a reminder, these blanks are ready to go, just download them! They’re also in a common size (relative to the standards set by aschefield), and the art box area is transparent, allowing you to insert a picture behind it. Don’t worry, I’ve still got plans to write up how to actually make fakes, it’s coming in due time!

One last reminder: so while I wasn’t able to get my blanks out in a respectable time, my plans were always to spend late-December and early-January on these Japanese Neo Redux blanks, while spending late-January and all of February in serious Pokémon Legends Arceus mode! Not that I plan on doing anything like items list and walkthroughs—as plenty of other sites do that already—but I do have a few other ideas up my sleeve, like:

  • FINALLY adding to the site an entire page dedicated to Hisuian text—which was almost completely deciphered by PA! Discord regular ElementsnStuff
    • incidentally ElementsnStuff also discovered that the Sun and Moon in PLA are maybe about 6 to 8 times larger in-game than they are in real life, which may explain why in-game that… actually, I have no clue what that may explain in-game
  • adding a page explaining who each major and minor character in PLA is based on (IF they’re based on anyone)
    • y’know, the obvious stuff like Lian and Clay… but alas, I still don’t know why they referenced a Gen 5/Unova character in this Gen 4/Sinnoh-based game.

But that’ll be slowly rolled out over February. At least, that’s the plan!

OK, that’s all I have to share right now. It’s been a long month, but it’ll be an even longer year! Let’s hope I keep can keep things going. Huzzah, good times…
